What are some tips for detailing my car at home?

Frogess asked:

I am a nurising student, and I practically live in my car. It’s Spring Break (woo hoo!) and I’m looking to detail my car inside and out at home. What are some good, economical ways to clean out my car, especially the carpet?

  1. Free Shipping on Sonic Scrubbers

    cheapest way…..pay the Car wash.
with so many products, You need to buy and use.
it will be more expensive do it Yourself.

on the other hand………You need a place to store the products You’d buy…..for the next Spring Break

expend Your money in the Spring Break party and forget life for a moment, that’s why Spring Breaks are for.

ok,for the outside first.wash it and wax it,but before you wax it,put some armor-all on the black moldind,so it wont turn white from the wax,and scrub the tires and use some armor-all on them.clean the windows, inside and out.thats all i can think of for the outside, now for the inside.(unhook the battery(so you wont run the battery down)clean the dash and use some armor-all on it and scrub your carpet, with all the doors open(so it will dry)of course after you vaccum the carpet, sorry about that.after it drys, spray some fabreze in it and close the doors, now you can hook the battery back up.hope this helps you.enjoy your spring break.

  3. Clearance Vacuum Cleaners

For carpets, Windex and a scrub brush will give excellent results. If you have stubborn stains, a good carpet stain remover from Wal Mart, etc. should do the trick.

For best results: Vacuum carpet thoroughly, use stain remover first if needed. Let dry, then scrub all with Windex, then vacuum again.

I am in the car cleaning business and here is our secret!
We buy this cleaning cloth off the internet. You have to buy in packages of 5 but they are only like $3 bucks a piece. IWe order them and use them on everything, especially cleaning windows and clean mirrors. They are made out of tiny fibers. They are guaranteed not to scratch and all you do is rinse the cloth under water, wring it out and wipe ANY surface with no streaks or scratch. Use em over and over. I have not thrown one away yet!
I am sold on this …I encourage you to try it out….hope this helps…Steve
